Announcement from the Toronto International Flamenco Festival

To all our wonderful supporters and community:

After seven wonderful years and alot of discussion, the Board of the Toronto International Flamenco Festival has decided that it’s time for us to take a well-deserved break from our annual events.

What this means is that in the fall of 2014, we will not be bringing in an international artist and staging our usual happenings. Believe us when we say that though we’ll miss the energy and the buzz of what the Festival means to us (and autumn in Toronto in that way just won’t be the same) - we also strongly believe this little breather is necessary and important for our development.

Our plan is to use the year ahead to assess the changing landscape of arts festivals and rediscover our place in it. During this time, we’ll continue to explore possibilities for our next Festival. This will include requesting feedback from you (*oh yes, you will *definitely* be hearing from us!) as we plan to re-emerge in 2015, full of renewed energy and rarin’ to go!

We’ll be working on our next steps, we’ll be thinking of you as we do it, and as always we give our deepest thanks to you for being with us on this journey.
